Our mission is to meet the personal, social, and academic needs of alternative learners in grades 9-12. Students earn credit toward graduation in the core academic areas of language arts, social studies, math, and science. Additional required credits are available in foreign language, computer, health, art, physical education, vocational education, and career-technical education. During their time at Summit, students complete a comprehensive life skills program which includes personal learning profiles, study skills, time management, choices and consequences, and problem-solving. Summit's problem-solving model, the Circle of Success, is based on mutual respect between staff and students, a reasonable number of opportunities for students to take responsibility for choices, and logical consequence. Team-building is also an essential part of the curriculum at Summit, achieved through weekly community meetings, service learning projects, experiential learning, and outdoor education.
